If county levels reach HIGH, this can significantly impact COVID access protocols.

Currently, masks not required; however, should County levels return to HIGH levels just prior to March 2023, masks and strict social distancing may be enforced once again and the Visitor Certification of Vaccination may be required.

Check the county’s COVID-19 County Level:

Here is a very high-level plan of events for the reunion…like from fifty thousand feet

Thursday is registration and socializing in the hotel lobby and the adjacent lounge.  Later in the evening, the Association's hospitality suite may be opened.

Friday, we visit the former USS PAUL F. FOSTER and enjoy a delicious, fully catered BBQ lunch on the new steel beach with friends and family. After lunch, a guided  tour the ship with your family and shipmates. Guided because we cant roam around the test unguided , for security and safety reasons,  Remember, no cameras are allowed on the pier or the test ship!.  (There will be an official Navy photographer to capture the event.) .

A few notes about the ship visit.  Children will be allowed on the ship during the ship visit and BBQ but must be with a parent at all times, no running or horseplay will be tolerated.  Stairs and ladders can be difficult for small children and some adults as well.  Sandals and open-toed shoes do not work well on Navy ships.  Wear appropriate shoes for the ship visit.

Friday evening, On Your Own, but the crew is encourged to gather with your shipmates at loacations around Oxnard, (This is not covered by the reunion fee.)

Saturday morning, we will hold our general meeting for USS Paul F. Foster veterans only,  During this essential meeting, we will discuss the current state and future of the Association, review the bylaws, elect new board members and pay tribute to those we've lost with the bell ceremony.Must be a USS Paul F Foster veteran and a Association member in good standing to vote

Saturday evening, a gala dinner at the hotel will be held, where raffle prizes will be awarded and our grand prize winner will be announced (grand prize winner need not be present to win).

Other Spruance Sailors can join us for dinner as dinner is included in your registration or have side events, side event planning and costs will be your responsibility

After the conclusion of dinner and awarding of the grand prize, the reunion business will conclude, thus allowing Sunday as a travel day for those who need to begin the journey home early.

The board is working hard to keep the price down but please note the following.

The registration fees cover the cost of the meals that are being served and other fees and costs related to the reunion

Be aware, inflation has hit California hard since 2019, this is out of our control so please understand this event will cost more than ever before.

  • Friday’s fully catered BBQ lunch aboard the ship, and we are providing free BBQ to the ships tour guides this year

  • Saturday morning’s breakfast and business meeting room fees

  • Saturday evening’s dinner and meeting room fees
