Join your shipmates at our 2019 Reunion in Ventura, California! Reunion dates are September 26 – September 28.
We are again using the Crowne Plaza Ventura Beach Hotel as our reunion meeting place.
When you arrive at the hotel in Ventura, check in at the front desk, and then find our Association’s check-in table in the lobby area. You will receive your welcome package and further information about the planned activities. Spend some time in the lounge area to meet with your shipmates and later, meet up in our hospitality suite where you can talk more, view merchandise for sale and our raffle prizes, and enjoy a refreshing beverage and some snacks.
Here is a high-level plan of events for the reunion…
Thursday is registration and socializing in the hotel lobby and the adjacent lounge. Later in the evening, the Association's hospitality suite may be opened.
On Friday, we visit the former USS PAUL F. FOSTER and enjoy a delicious, fully catered BBQ lunch on the new steel beach with friends and family. After lunch, tour the ship with your family and shipmates. Remember, no cameras are allowed. (There will be an official Navy photographer to capture the event.) A few notes about the ship visit. Children will be allowed on the ship during the ship visit and BBQ but must be with a parent at all times, no running or horseplay will be tolerated. Stairs and ladders can be difficult for small children and some adults as well. Sandals and open-toed shoes do not work well on Navy ships. Wear appropriate shoes for the ship visit.
Friday evening, the ship's Plank Owners will have a special Plank Owner dinner at a local restaurant to be determined later. Members from other eras are welcome to hold their own get-togethers as well. (This is an optional event for members and their families and is not covered by the reunion fee.)
Saturday morning, we will hold our general meeting (breakfast will be served). During this essential meeting, we will discuss the current state and future of the Association, review the bylaws, elect new board members and pay tribute to those we've lost with the bell ceremony.
Saturday evening, a gala dinner at the Crowne Plaza will be held, where raffle prizes will be awarded and our grand prize winner will be announced (grand prize winner need not be present to win). After the conclusion of dinner and awarding of the grand prize, the reunion business will conclude, thus allowing Sunday as a travel day for those who need to begin the journey home early.
The board has worked hard to keep the price down but please note the following. It is in everyone’s best interest to register early. We will hold the current price of $125 per adult attendee until July 31st. August 1st we will have to raise the cost to $135 per adult. To help lessen the total cost to members with young children, we have decided to reduce the fee as follows. Children between the ages of 13 -17 are $50 each. Children 12 and under are free. There is a separate menu for those 12 and under. All kids meals are served with French Fries and Fresh Fruit.

The registration fee helps cover the cost of the meals that are being served (Friday’s fully catered BBQ lunch aboard the ship, Saturday morning’s breakfast, and Saturday evening’s dinner), so be prepared to make your dinner selections as part of the registration process. Note: all kids meals are served with French Fries and Fresh Fruit. Once your registration is complete, use the provided link to reserve your room or contact the hotel by phone and make sure you inform them that you are with the USS Paul F. Foster Association and attending the 2019 reunion, as we've arranged special pricing with the hotel for Association attendees.

You must complete the form in its entirety. All registrations must be completed here on the website and to ensure you will be allowed to visit the ship, your registration must be completed by August 26. Late registrations must be completed and submitted by September 8th but there is a very good chance that you will not be cleared in time to enter the base or board the ship. Registration will be closed after September 8th.
Base security and U.S.Navy will require some personal information to get on base and onboard the ship.
